The Goal Keeper Camp is designed for players who want to learn and improve upon the basics of being a great goal keeper. The camp is for ages 8-12 years old, and runs side by side with the goal scorer camp.

Goalkeepers usually do not reach their prime until their mid-30's for men and late 20's for women. It takes years of practice and experience to truly be a great goalkeeper. For many young players and teams the approach is to simply throw someone in goal that is brave enough to mind the net. The goal keeper is the last point of defense, and the first point of attack when they have the ball, so they are a vital position to any team.

The Goal Keeper Camp focuses on giving the player the basic tools needed to become a great goal keeper. Each day of camp builds on the basic skill set that each keeper needs. These techniques include footwork, ball handling, shot stopping, diving, taking high balls and crosses, starting position and angled approach, defending free kicks, as well as receiving a back pass and distribution.

The keepers in the camp will be challenged. By the end of the week they will not only be confident, but will have the building blocks of technique to be a great goal keeper.

The coaching staff will be former goalkeepers that played successfully in high school and college, and professional coaches with a goalkeeper certification. All staff will be under the direction of camp clinician, Richard Elder.
